A Blog for Designers of Tomorrow

Welcome back to Mauina Design, everyone! This is a blog where I help Interior Design Students and Design Beginners understand the world of Interior Design a little better. You know, to where it makes sense!!!

I have so much design stuff to talk about that my head is going to fall off my shoulders. You should follow the blog because I'll be talking about Design Events, Design School courses, Revit skills, Interior sketching, and more. I haven't written a blog in a couple of years because I've been so busy getting used to school again and other life things, like moving into my first apartment! It's a dream...but the upkeep of the dream is chaos! Anyways...Interior Design:

Topics that this blog will cover in the months to follow: how to get started in the interior design field, whether design school is really necessary, and tips on how to enhance your interior sketching and Revit skills! These are just things that I do daily...and it doesn't stop! I will also be sharing my projects along the way so you can see how school can help develop your skills. This could help you decide your next career path!

Throughout the last few years, I've personally helped many students understand their designs better and offered them Revit support, too. Then I had an idea...what if there was a place online where everyone could benefit from my help! Why only help a few people a day when I could help many! Also, I've had this idea for the blog for a while now, cooking in my head. I'm ready to help you understand this design world and how you could fit into it! And if you're already in it as a student or beginner, I'm the right person to look for help. I have EXPERIENCE!

I was in my school's resource room the other day, looking at all the interior design magazines that showcase completely polished projects from industry professionals. It can be overwhelming as a student to think, "Well, how can I get there if I suck at space planning! I can never make something as genius as that!" That's when I asked, "Why isn't there a popular Interior Design magazine aimed at and showcasing student work for students/newcomers of Interior Design! What about us?!" So I'm like, wait, I was already going to make this blog, why not just center it on beginner designers, just like me? Less intimidating, more realistic, and hopefully, there are many things you can actually learn from here because I'm in the middle of my program. My head is fresh with all this beginner knowledge!

Also, there's so much to know in this design world. I had no idea about allllll the different materials, fabrics, luxury vinyl tiles, acoustical ceiling tiles, wall coverings, acrylic wall paneling, and more! There are so many brands, so many differences between what should be used in commercial design versus residential. And choosing finishes that are safe too! I will go over all of these topics. Plus, if I write it here, I'll remember it better for my exams too! Win-win!

I will be posting more later this week, and then I will eventually figure out a good blogging schedule. I'm almost done with the Spring semester, so I'll be able to write even more in a few weeks. Luckily, I've already started drafting a new blog for the end of this week! So, is this design blog worth following? Do you want to strengthen your design skills for school? Or are you just reading this and you're literally never going to step one foot in the design world? Haha! Let me know in the comments!
